The Death Of A Friendship

It happened so quickly! Ok who am I kidding I seen it coming from the beginning to the end. I make it a deal to know my friends know who they are and where they are coming from. So I really wasn’t that surprise at this recent turn of events. I don’t know what many people call a friend but I do know what is not.

I find it hard to believe that a good friend would take the time to write a list of things done in the past with so much detail. My question is who has the time and who does that? While in my recent experience I have felt like I was ten again and my parents needed to be notified of my misbehaving in class. I just don’t know almost thirty and calling parents. I thought things could be better.

Tisk tisk now in retrospect I was planning my escape. Harsh thing to say it was bad I tell you bad! Sleeping in the corner and getting notes left every other day. In fact it got to the point that I didn’t want to be there and for the most part I wasn’t. When it gets likes that I know it is time to go. Certain people I like better being friends from a distant and that was my hesitating coming here.

Again I make it a note to know my friends. I know the crazy one’s from the sane ones. The nice ones from the mean ones and the ones I can trust from the ones and cannot. I have learned that the best thing to do in life is let things go because everything happens for a reason. Of course not everybody thinks that way and they let things weigh them down and in the end eat them alive. The important thing here is to remember you are only hurting yourself because the other person has let it go and has no worries, but in fact have a smile. Smiles all day!
I must be that person I am and thank them in the end not for their craziness because soon I hope they seek help. I do want to thank her for the move I love it here in good ole Atlanta but that is where the thank you ends and the goodbye begins.

Black America

Thanks to the work of African Americans we are able to do a lot of things otherwise we could not in my opinion. There have been many African Americans that have been the first and the greatest at what they do. There have been many movies to document the history that changed the world because of Black America and there will be many more to come.
There have been over 500 years of black achievement dating back to 1492 when Pedro Alonzo Nino a black man served on Christopher Columbus’s ship on the first Spanish voyage to the New World. Too present time where we as the people of the United States of America have elected our first African American President. That would be President Barack Obama that will I am certain of this bring us out of this recession.
There is also some people in between that are apart on Black America that helps us advance in life. To name a few you have Vivian Thomas which was the first black man to bring open heart surgery to reality. His brother Harold Thomas is the reason why African American teachers get paid the same as White Teacher’s. He helped bring the case to Supreme Court that also helps make the career of Thurgood Marshall. You have Alvin Ailey help black people get recognized for the dance skills when at a time it was just White America being seen in the dance world. Now they perform all over the world. Then in the sports world where we have sport called swimming where you mostly see white faces. In 1973 Jim Ellis decided he would take his love for the sport and teach it to young black adolescents to keep them out the streets and out of trouble. Some of his students have been to the Olympic trials. That’s just to name a few.
I must say maybe one of the greatest members of Black America would be the late great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and that is because he had a dream. Because of his dream I believe that is why our country has come together. We came together and voted the great President Barack Obama in office. It is once an African American man that has made history.
With the help of Black America we have had quite some breakthroughs that helped form our history. It’s astonishing how far we have come. African Americans once were slaves that were looked down upon. Now we have our first Black President. Let’s not forget that without Black America Columbus might not have found the new world. Open heart surgery might not have become what it is today. Teachers of different color would have been getting paid different because of the color of their skin. Black dancers would be still in the background and still no black swimmers that can swim at the Olympic level. So thank goodness for Black America. Without Black American we wouldn’t be where we are today.

Poem of the Month

I Woke Up
I didn't realize today
As I looked in your face how I hated you so
I'm not willing to die for you
Nor fight for you
I can't even stand you
Every breath you take I wish was you last
Every time I see your face all I remember are
The beatings you gave me until I fell to your feet
Begging you please stop beating me until I bleed
So don't stand in my face telling me to bow down
And respect you by any means
So I say again I can't stand you
And every breath you take I wish was your last
Because I woke up today
Didn't die in my sleep
From the bruises that you imprinted on me

Poem of the Month

Smile
My smile is my prize
Nobody can take that away from me
You can call me names
You can leave me standing in the rain
I will still have my smile to out shine everything
You can leave me alone
Try to make me insane
Cause me pain
Nothing will stand in the way of my smile
It's my prize and nobody I mean nobody
Can take that away from me

Obama Day is Here!

Here I go again with my tears it’s just so emotional it’s hard to put in words, but Obama day is finally here! No more President elected just plan ole President Obama. Our first black President is here its official I just witnessed this great event on T.V. It’s amazing how the whole world is watching and most want him to succeed. It’s time to finally get it clean it up. It’s time to take care of our homeland the United States of America before we take care of someone else’s land.

Goodbye 2008

I will have to say this I was not to sad to see this year end. I would have to say it was one of my worse years to date, but hey so was 2006 and 2007. I can’t say that I am the only one happy to see that dreaded year gone. I knew I wasn’t the only one. The end of 2008 brought the end of Bush that deserves a standing ovation all on it’s on. Ahh Obama time is here and with our new president should come a lot of relieve.
I’m going take a note from Christina Aguilera and say it just keeps getting better. Maybe we needed a year like we just had a swift kick in the rear to get us right. The all so high gas prices, the bailouts, the whole freakin’ economy was the pits. It was the worse. I thought we were headed for the 1930’s and nobody wants to be in a depression. Can you imagine? Of course things was going to have to get better because not only was it effecting good ole main street but wall street was also falling to its knees and now we just can’t have that can we.
So I say to my fellow Americans lets treated 2009 right it’s like a car you treat it right it will treat you right.
