The Gym

Ahh…..the gym almost did me in today. I guess lying around the house eating every ten minutes is not exactly a special k challenge. My favorite thing to do was cardio. I now find cardio doing me.

I was on my favorite machine for less than ten minutes, but one look at me you would have guessed ten hours. To top my first trip back after 5 months off I went with one of my dearest friends who I believe is secretly a personal trainer. She tried to take me out I believe with all my heart.

The thread mill which should have been an easy one for me to nail turned out to be a death trap waiting. My dear friend you know the personal trainer wannabe. Decides I wasn’t moving to her beat of the drum and sped me up 10 times what I’m use to. She had me climbing mountains, doing Olympic races and all to think she wasn’t even getting paid. I really thought it was the end and then the cool down came I could taste the relief I was sweating for the relief. I thought to soon because I suddenly seen a hand reach over and turn my cool down into a fast warm up that lasted far too long for my legs.

In the end my trip to the gym was the end of a fat vacation I was happily enjoying. No more lying around the house stuffing my face. Yes. Yes those days are over I’m back in cardio heaven. The 100 plus calories I burned off got me wanting to see it to the end and yes I will soon see you again gym.

Poem of the Month

I Didn't Realize

I have been looking for you for some time
How could I have missed you just inches away from my face
Breathing in taking air in my space
You're all I use to talk about
Not knowing it was you I was talking about
You have been here with me through everything never falling to your knees
Always being the glue to hold me together
Now that I have you I will never let you go
I will be there for all your needs
The wind have blown in opposite directions just in the end to have us brought together
Flying high above the sky living life to its fullest me and you forever together

History Was Made on 11/04/08

Well I can't even explain my emotion on the events of last night. Not only was America celebrating, but the whole world seem to have been affected by this historical election. We have had a record high for voting for this election. I guess people finally had enough of our current situation and needed a change. Change we got! You can see the emotion spread across the world, it's nothing like victory. I am so happy that I was able to witness this milestone in history. I mean our first African American President come on now even the ones that did not vote for the man should give him a well deserved clap and pat on the back. The young black kids of America really can now believe that they can become anything not just doctors or lawyers, but also president of the United States. My emotions are still running wild and I still have tears of joy in my heart for the events of last night. I can only think that we as Americans have been through the downs of the last past eight years only to end up on top. With Barack Obama as president we will over come and get back on top where the United States belong. Now our part as Americans should be patience, because our issues can not be fixed overnight, but they will be fixed. Because we have Barack Obama a president we can count on.

You Look Your Age

Hey lets do this. The next time someone say you don't look your age. Say really and what age do I look like exactly? Seriously what is looking your age. I mean how do 20, 30, 40 look anyway? I think everybody look their age in their own way.

When a person tells us their age we judge. We think either wow they look good for their age or wow they must have had a hard life. For the most part we're shocked either way. In that rarity you find those few that when they say their age you think aw.. I thought so, you look about 30. Then that brings out the I actually look like I've been on this earth for 30 years, damn! When someone puts it like that you really want to say my bad I didn't see it that way.

It may come as a surprise to some, but a 20,30,40 year old can look like they were born on the same day. I know right. I can be 40 and someone say really, you don't look a day over 25. Yes! Score! Then I can be 27 and someone already pre-guessed 32. After my age is revealed they try to clean it up and say you just look mature for your age. Yeah thanks for sending me running to the mirror.

So the next time someone say wow you don't look that old or wow I thought you was older than that! Look at them and say I do look my age because I am my age!
